47.5 +/- Acres of mostly flat timber ground in Hardin County
Here is a great chunk of deer hunting ground in Hardin County, Illinois, just northwest of Rosiclare. Once you pass through the gate on the southeastern corner, you have a nice area to have a storage shed or build a small cabin. There is a 4 wheeler trail that runs the entire property. It starts off by running along the eastern edge of, then as it passes the creek crossing it continues through the middle of the timber almost to the northern border. This trail is wide and flat, which allows easy and quiet access to several ladder stands, as well as a sturdy, homemade deer blind. The blind is currently sitting on a single row of cinder blocks, but it wouldn't take much to get it elevated to the height of your choosing. All the stands are near heavily travelled deer trails, and you can see how the deer move from the large block of timber on the west side, to the east and south where the Ag fields are. The entire property has mature trees, and with some select cutting, you could open up the canopy in a few areas for some great "staging area" food plots for the bucks. The land that makes the long "strip" is pretty much all flat, and you start to rise slightly in elevation once you make it back to the northern block. This farm is easy walking, but it seems so much larger than 47 acres because it is so long. That's why its great to have the existing trail system to get you to any part of the property with ease. If you are looking for a nice and affordable piece of deer hunting ground in Southern Illinois, this could be it! Asking $2,200/acre.
This property is located roughly 2.5 hours Southeast of St. Louis, Missouri, an hour North of Paducah, Kentucky and just 3 hours Northwest of Nashville, Tennessee. Contact Cabot Benton 217-371-2598 firstname.lastname@example.org , with questions or to schedule a private tour.
